Fury vs Usyk undercard 📜
The boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion was spectacular. There was a strong undercard preceding the main fight, which included two world title bouts.

- Jai Opetaia defeated Mairis Briedis to win the vacant IBF Cruiserweight title. Opetaia became the cruiserweight’s top fighter after Usyk left the division. First, he defeated Briedis for the IBF championship in a clash in July of 2022. Briedis is a former IBF champ and held the WBC crown before losing to Usyk in the World Boxing Super Series finals in 2018. At 39, Mairis Biriedis’ only defeats have come from these two fighters.
- Joe Cordina fought Anthony Cacace to win the IBF super-featherweight title. Anthony Cacace was the underdog (+350 against Cordina-450) but won TKO-8. Cordina claimed the IBF championship in June 2022 after a savage knockout of Kenichi Ohawa in the second round. Cacace, despite losing in 2017 to Martin Ward, has racked up six wins in a row to climb the ranks and earn a shot to be a world champ.
- Heavyweight Agit Kabayel defeated Frank Sanchez. Sanchez has won a few matches against some well-known opponents. The most notable win is his October 2021 fight against Efe Adjagba. Sanchez had to face a tougher opponent in Kabayel. Agit Kabaeel defeated Frank Sanchez with a KO-7, clearing the way for the title to be claimed.
The IBF title became vacant after Usyk has agreed to continue with the rematch. The governing body says that a rematch with Fury forced them to strip Ukrainian boxer Usyk of the IBF belt one month after he gained it for refusing to comply with their obligation to provide a shot against the mandatory competitor.
- Robin Safar won UD-10 over Sergey Kovalev in cruiserweight. 41-year-old Kovalev has won multiple titles, including one as unified world champion in November 2014 after beating Bernard Hopkins. Safar has never before fought against so strong opponent nor on a stage that was so spectacular. The young man has demonstrated power and confidence. He has 12 knockouts to his credit in a perfect 17-0-0 career.
