Fury-Usyk 2 – less belts but more prize money

Fury and Usyk are going to earn more in their rematch than they did in the original bout for the undisputed heavyweight title.

The last time, Tyson Fury took home roughly 70% of the total purse. Oleksandr Usyk, despite winning the fight, won much less than that, about  $45m (£30m).

Due to the excitement of their first match,  the rematch will generate even more interest and money. “It will be much bigger and the undercard will be much bigger”, Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority revealed his plans to talkSPORT.

According to The Sun research, both boxers are expected to win even more this time, as they will fight for a purse of closer to $191m (£150m). Even though the split was not disclosed, Usyk expected to earn a higher percentage of the prize money this time than in May.
