How are training camps for Usyk or Fury going? 🏋️‍♂️

Oleksandr Usyk won Fury’s WBC title in May and broke his unbeaten record. Both are preparing for a rematch in December. Even though Usyk earned his lineal and undisputed status in the world of heavyweights, the upcoming event will be a serious contest. Fans and bettors have high hopes for their favourites.

Each of the opponents has their own strong reasons to fight to the last. Fury claims that his first defeat in his professional career was an accidental mistake. For him, this will be a chance to prove he is still on the top. For Usyk, in turn, a victory in the rematch will forever secure his legacy in the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Usyk’s training camp features

“Discipline, task performance, self-dedication”

Oleksandr Usyk took some much-needed family time, before returning to training with renewed zest. Ukrainian boxer, the two-time undisputed world champion currently holding titles from WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO heavyweight belts started his training program in September.

“After the fight, I rested for two to three weeks. Then I kept training regularly, like cardio, little physical for every day. When the preparation camp started I got back to training hard; it is cross, sparring, pool for three times a day, have a sleeping and eating routine.

Recently, in the Ready to Fight interview, Usyk confirmed that he has built a strong team and remains dedicated to his goal of winning. He is in a good mood and expressed his pleasure at being in training camp, claiming that his motivation is always with him.

The Ukrainian southpaw shared some details about his preparations for a rematch: “Every training session is unique. In the last camp, we did about 500 sparrings. This time, it might be more or the same. It is not about the number but quality. It does not matter whether they are boxing amateurs or pros; we’ll bring in anyone who fits the criteria.”

What is pre-fight training like for Fury?

“Now I’ve got something really to return for”

Now when it is less than two months before the big night, Fury revealed his strategy for the upcoming rematch. The Briton going to knock down his opponent in the same way he did Deontay Wilder as he does not believe judges will assign him fair anyway.

Speaking to Paul Dempsey, Gypsy King insists that he’ll adhere to his well-known tactics and not going to change trainers or other team members. However, a self-confident Brit does not hurry to start training. “I don’t like long camps; I usually start training 6-7 weeks before,” he said.

Fury feels inspired by the new boxing game release which has his face on the cover. He looks confident, publishes religious posts on Instagram and threats to Usyk.

In the meantime, Fury’s trainer Andy Lee claims that the failure occurred because Tyson Fury could not spar during his previous training camp. He insisted that Fury’s injury had a significant impact on his subsequent training sessions. Now, though, he’ll be able to spar, so it’ll be completely different.

The final thoughts

Fury seemed to be furious about his first defeat. He’s working his best to revenge. He warned Usyk that he stopped everyone he clashed with before and this time would be the same. But it is not worth forgetting that Usyk is a very adaptive boxer with a high IQ. In his fights with AJ, there was a noticeable difference between how he acted in the first bout, and then in the rematch, it was absolutely a different Usyk. For sure, he will prepare many surprises for us this time too.
